Sunshine beaming on your glowing skin, soft sand between your toes, the sound of waves crashing into the shore, the smell of salt in the air, and the taste of a sweet frozen concoction adorned with a tiny umbrella to make all your worries fade away… yes we were living in paradise.

This was not only in reach on our days off, but it was our home.  If we wanted to grab a bite to eat after work, we could find ourselves under a tiki hut watching a beach sunset and eating grouper sandwiches.

My husband was in love with where he had landed, and Clearwater was all I knew for the past 30 years of my life.  But how can you judge perfection without experiencing the vast geography and cultures the United States has to offer?  We are avid travelers.  Our perfect vacation included finding a cheap flight into any city in America, renting a car, and hitting as many surrounding states as possible.  Our goals were to find the best dive bars, eat local food known to that area, enjoy the history a specific city has to offer, and of course hit as many breweries and baseball parks that were in reach.  But can you really get the feel for a city in 3 or 4 days?  This was when we decided to put the house up for sale and hit the road.  Let’s experience what small town USA is all about and broaden our horizons along the way.

Join us on our ventures across the states and we will share:

Local eats

Historical landmarks

Best craft brews

Baseball parks

Where to camp

Dog friendly attractions

How to cut costs

What is worth the splurge

Places to avoid

Overcoming obstacles

We can’t wait to share the beauty of our adventure and the mishaps along the way.  The main goal is to reveal how this exploration is feasible for anyone on a limited budget and with little camping experience.
